Dysmenorrhea

I just came across the word dysmenorrhea for the first time in Bill Bryson's Notes from a Small Island:

...[I] was hustled aboard a shuttle bus by an officious woman with a serious case of dysmenorrhea.

I don't know if it's the kind of word that you can practice by slipping it into everyday conversation. If given the opportunity, I will attempt to use it.

Oh I just love that book! I love any book that makes me laugh out loud. FYI: I'm going through a period of technology deprivation, so I may not be quite as reachable as usual. My cell phone (my only phone) works sometimes. And I can be on the internet at the library.
